Tips on Buying Annual Travel Insurance

After you've bought single trip holiday insurance once too often, it can be tempting to turn to annual travel insurance instead. The benefits seem numerous - less cost, less hassle, and many optional extras - yet committing to an annual travel insurance policy isn't to be done lightly. You need to make sure it is the right policy for you, and that you can get it at a price that saves you money. These are a few of the questions that you should ask yourself before buying annual travel insurance...

Do You Need It?

Travel insurers are always trying to persuade people to shell out for annual travel insurance, and with good reason - it's usually the best deal. But it isn't for everyone. Be honest with yourself - it may not be possible to predict exactly how many holidays you are going to go on, but try and have a rough estimate in mind. Figure out approximately how much it will cost you to get single trip insurance for each of these holidays, and then do the math. If you are likely to make big savings on annual travel insurance, then it makes sense to buy it. If you are only going to manage one or two short holidays in the year, it might be worth buying insurance for each individual trip.

Of course, it is also worth remembering that annual travel insurance will cover you for numerous trips you might not bother getting insured for usually (weekend breaks and so on), and can offer you the peace of mind of constant year round cover. You may well consider it worth paying a little more for this privilege.

What Are the Extras On Offer?

...and are they actually of use? It's easy to be seduced by all the free extras that are packaged with many annual travel insurance policies, but it is important to be realistic - free golf insurance isn't any good to you if you've never set foot on a golf course! Look out for genuinely useful deals - free winter sports cover if you are a keen skier, free child cover if you often travel with your family, and so on. If a slightly more expensive travel insurance policy offers extras that are going to save you money in the long run, that may be the one to go for.

Have You Read the Small Print?

It goes without saying that shopping around is the best way to go with annual travel insurance, and comparing the best deals via online comparison sites is a great way to get an idea of what policies are out there. But before you choose the one with the lowest price, take a very careful look at its terms and conditions.

Different travel insurance policies will have different levels of cover. Look very carefully at the terms and conditions of key policy areas. Under what circumstances will the policy refund you if you cancel a holiday? What level of cover is offered for your money and personal possessions? How high is the level of medical cover? What sports and activities does it cover? How about legal fees?

If the price is right and the cover is good, it is well worth buying annual travel insurance - but make sure you get the deal that is right for you.

How to Plan, Yet Affordable Honeymoon

Getting married is one of the biggest moments in anyone’s life. It’s the harmonious union of two people in love. However, that love can quickly start to fizzle if the honeymoon is too costly and turns into a travel nightmare. Anytime you travel or attempt to book travel plans, there is the possibility of something going wrong. And when you’re traveling for the first time as a married couple, you want your getaway to be as enjoyable and trouble-free as possible.

If you’re getting married soon and want to book a romantic AND trouble-free honeymoon to an international destination without leaving you broke, you need to think ahead and establish your travel budget, choose your destination carefully, and find international travel deals.

Establish Your Honeymoon Travel Budget $$$

One thing that many couples don’t do before they start planning their honeymoon is establish what they can afford to spend on the trip. When dealing with international travel, travel expenses such as international airfare, car rentals, hotel rooms, and other items can add up very quickly. And since it’s a honeymoon rather than a student travel trip, you don’t want to end up staying in a hostel because you ran out of money. So, before you even select a destination, establish exactly how much you have to spend on all items involved in your honeymoon. This includes meals, travel expenses, souvenirs, and any other high-priced items. Remember, traveling internationally can be costly; so if you don’t want to end up sleeping on a park bench on your honeymoon, establish your travel budget before you choose a destination.

Choose Your Honeymoon Destination Wisely

Once you have established your honeymoon travel budget, the next step is to choose your destination. When selecting a honeymoon destination, it’s a good idea to first list what activities you’d like to do. Are you interested in scuba diving? Do you want to visit museums? If so, what types of museums? After you’ve created your list, compare it to your spouse’s list; see what activities you both have in common, and create a final list.

After your list is finalized, decide when you’re going to go. The time of year you travel will dictate what countries/cities you can visit to complete as many items on your list as possible. For example, if you want to layout on the beach every day during your honeymoon, but you’re getting married in February, you want to find a honeymoon destination that is sunny and warm in February. The key to choosing the ideal honeymoon destination is selecting a location that satisfies your travel activities, offers the optimal climate to complete those activities, and is within your travel budget.

Find International Travel Deals

Most newly wed couples don’t have a fortune to spend on their honeymoon. However, many couples still want to have a honeymoon that’s exotic, international, and romantic. So the solution to having the most romantic, yet affordable honeymoon possible is to find international travel deals. The Internet is a great place to look for international travel deals and discounts on airfare. Discounted travel rates and cheap airfare deals can be found online on travel web sites and through online travel consolidators, like cFares. These travel sites contract with the different airlines and use airfare search engine technology to get the best international travel deals on flights around the world. So if you’re looking for a way to save a bundle on your honeymoon, search the Internet for international travel deals.

Get Married in a Museum!! Paphos Ethnographic Museum Paphos, Cyprus

Get Married in a Museum! Paphos Ethnographic Museum!

The Ethnographic museum is a charming and interesting new venue for weddings in Paphos. This venue is completely unique as it offers a private and intimate ceremony area in a picturesque courtyard close to the historical ‘Old Town’ of Paphos yet away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists. The museum is set in a private house owned by the late George Eliades who was a renowned archaeologist, his work is continued by his family who believe the museum offers the perfect, personal environment for a wedding while offering guests a taste of the history of Cyprus. You may choose from a civil ceremony conducted by a registrar from Paphos Town Hall or a religious service by a minister or priest from the Anglican or Catholic Church. The venue can be booked for an hour and a half, giving the guests the chance to browse the museum after the ceremony; champagne and canapés can also be provided on request.

Honeymoon in Amsterdam

Don't be deceived by its intoxicated backpackers and drug-clad coffee shops; Amsterdam offers far more than some rowdy itinerants might suggest. Intrinsic charms and an enchanting culture pervade the Netherland's capital city; brimming with romantic canals, fabulous art galleries, and enchanting historical buildings, Amsterdam is truly a honeymooner's delight.

My husband Elliott and I had considered several European cities before finally settling on Amsterdam: London for premium museums and theatre, Italy for the pristine Mediterranean coastline, and Prague for the Jewish quarter and charming Old Town Square. But Amsterdam ultimately prevailed, as the small metropolis seemed the perfect destination for romance, culture, and some much-needed revelry.

Once we had recovered from the jet lag (little over a day), we commenced our trip with a charming 5-hour boat and bike tour. (Since we had honeymooned in spring, these special tours were still being offered). We spent the first few hours biking around town, exploring famous sites like Dam Square and the Anne Frank House (which we would later revisit). Bike riding was a pleasant surprise and, as our guide informed us, is apparently the quintessential Dutch experience. We would proceed to use bikes for the duration of the trip.

We then relocated to the tour's more relaxing latter half: the boat tour, which traversed the city through its network of beautiful 17th century canals. A highlight of our honeymoon, I found the boat tour captured the city's placid, romantic nature. We meandered along Amsterdam's calm waters, enjoying optimum views of the city's charming edifices and bridges. The tour ended in verdant Vondel Park where Elliott surprised me with decadent chocolate, a bottle of champagne, and several warm kisses.

We rented canal bikes, and pedaled through the waterways; visited Anne Frank's House as well as the inspiring Van Gough museum; and enjoyed the perfumed air of Amsterdam's vibrant Bloemenmarkt (flower market). We lent our evenings to the city's steamier side, roaming the Red Light District and even indulging in a coffee shop or two.

For five days and four nights, Elliot and I were engulfed by the city's undeniable charm. It would be unfortunate to discount such a magical city because of any word-of-mouth fabrication; romance certain abounds in this quaint yet bustling city. It really is a fabulous destination to celebrate your vows.

The Vitals of Honeymoon Planning

Click Here for the Best Hawaiian Hotel Deals!

All of us know about the amount of hard work and toil that goes into planning a successful project. To achieve the desired result from any of the projects, it is important that you begin the planning for each of the stages, right from the start. In fact, even for a successful and memorable honeymoon, it is important that you begin planning at an early stage. It is actually useful to sit down to plan with a paper and pen and plan each of the aspects carefully.

Key Aspects

Foremost, it is important to decide on when do you want to go on the honeymoon. There are many factors that can play a role. The most important is the vacation time, as the new couples do not want to miss any working days and hence the salaries. Still others will want to go only when it is not a wedding season and hence the famous honeymoon resorts will not be crowded. It is for this reason that you will find many couples postponing their honeymoon to as much as a month after their weddings. However, such honeymoons have to be very well planned and executed. Likewise, many of the couples on honeymoon also choose the time of their holiday in accordance with the activities they want to perform. For instance, couples wanting to take up skiing will prefer to go in the winter months, even if that means waiting for some time.

The Next Step

Once you have decided when you are going for your honeymoon, its now time to think of the options you have for the destinations. The most important consideration in this is to take into account the preferences of both the partners. There are women who prefer not only their aquamarine and diamond rings, but going to the hills, with all its cozy and romantic surroundings. On the other hand, men usually wish to visit more adventurous places and even indulge in challenging sports like bungee jumping, paragliding and the like.

Moving on, its now time to look for a suitable service provider for your honeymoon. You should look for a travel planner who has been offering exquisite honeymoon packages to keen couples in the past as well. There are various ways to look for one, such as contacting acquaintances and take referrals. You can even go through the yellow pages or research the internet for some suitable options. A well-planned and memorable honeymoon can very well kick-start your married life on an excellent note.
